How to record and submit a video

To record and submit video footage, it is advised that you follow the five steps below. 

The clinical team will respond to you via a letter sent to your GP.

The team will also record your consent and the questions related to your video along with any recommended action in your medical notes. Your video may be shared with clinicians at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) for a second opinion or discussion. It will not be shared outside of the organisation.

Please note: this is not an emergency service. if you need advice and guidance, please contact the clinical team supporting you.

Is there anything else I need to do?

Yes, each time you use the service you will receive a short survey by email. Please complete this. It only takes a couple of minutes and your views are essential to help us decide whether the service should continue.

Is the service secure and approved?

The vCreate Neuro service has received approval for use in the NHS. It was developed with doctors in NHS Scotland. Videos are stored in a secure cloud (hosted by Microsoft Azure) and are only available to your clinical team using their secure login.

What happens to my videos after they are reviewed?

The consent and questions with your video, along with any clinical notes will be saved to your patient record at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB).

Once you have submitted your video, the clinical team will review and communicate next steps with you in due course. If you are discharged by your clinical team and are no longer receiving ongoing care then your account will be closed and you will be informed.

Can I delete my account?

You can withdraw your participation in the service by deleting your account, and it will not affect your health care provision. You can do this by clicking on ‘Update My Details’ on your login page. Then click on ‘Request Account Removal’ and confirm when prompted. This will be sent to the Trust for review.

In line with the UHB privacy policy, we will still need to collect and maintain information about your health, treatment and care so that you can be given the best possible care. With this in mind, videos that have been uploaded may continue to be accessed by your healthcare team.  

The videos you have uploaded will remain on your smartphone, you will need to delete these.
