Mr Subu SubramonianConsultant Urological Surgeon

Mr Subramonian undertook his basic urological training and research in West Yorkshire, followed by higher surgical training in London. He underwent special training in endoscopic surgery for stone disease and laparoscopic surgery at King's College, London and St. George's Hospital. He also spent some time in the Cleveland clinic and John Hopkin's Hospital in America on a travelling scholarship from the British Urological Foundation. Here he learnt minimally invasive surgical skills before joining University Hospitals Birmingham as Consultant Urological Surgeon.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital serves as referral centre for patients with complex kidney problems referred from other centres in the region. Mr Subramonian gives advice and treatment for patients with complex kidney stone disease referred from all the hospitals in the West Midlands region and carries out complex endoscopic operations for these patients. He is currently Chair of the Endourology Subsection of British Association of Urological Surgeons.
